Food production is responsible for over a quarter of all global greenhouse gas emissions[1], and despite having enough to feed the world 1.5 times over, 800 million people don’t have enough food to eat.
Huel was founded in 2015 by Julian Hearn and James Collier BSc (Hons) RNutr to provide something of a solution to this problem – an ethical, 100% vegan, nutritionally complete product with zero waste and a year-long shelf life.
Each Huel product in our rapidly-growing range has low GI and very low sugar content, with no added sugar, genetically modified ingredients, soy, eggs, dairy meat and animal products at all. They can all be prepared in just a few minutes (or less!) and contain 100% of the vitamins and minerals your body needs to thrive, allowing people to gain or lose weight, eat healthier, and save time, all in the knowledge what they’re eating is sustainable and healthy.

Huel was co-founded by Julian Hearn. After growing a coupon website from scratch and later sold, Julian turned his attention to the health world. The idea for Huel came after he was trialling a diet plan, and found the art of delicately balancing his nutrient intake to be a "nightmare". Julian currently lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife and son.
James Collier is the Co-Founder and Head of Sustainable Nutrition at Huel. He’s worked in nutrition and dietetics - including time in the NHS – for 27 years and previously specialised in providing advice for competitive bodybuilders, strongmen, boxers, and Mixed Martial Arts fighters. He is also the co-owner of popular bodybuilding forum MuscleTalk.
