All Huel products are routinely tested for micro, allergens, heavy metals, and pesticides. We have sampling teams in the UK and US, using certified labs UKAS and FDA-compliant standards. Our in-house NIR tech also enables advanced quality testing when needed.
In addition to our internal checks, Huel requires a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for every raw material delivered to site, verifying compliance with relevant specifications and testing requirements. Each CoA is individually reviewed by our Raw Material Team to ensure our products meet the highest food industry standards.
We go above and beyond by testing Huel for hundreds of contaminants and banned substances.
Huel meals are 'nutritionally complete' at 2,000 calories made with high quality, optimally sourced ingredients that provide ideal amounts of essential nutrients. In a 4-week study where participants consumed only Huel, several nutrient levels were maintained or improved, including vitamins D & B12, iron & selenium showing effective absorption and utilisation.

We’ve set carbon footprint targets for all products, aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. We assess ingredients across carbon, water, biodiversity, and land use. Huel MK began manufacturing in August 2024. Built solely for Huel, it features systems ensuring food safety, quality, and traceability. From ingredient intake to automated packing and X-ray checks, every step ensures consistency, safety, and excellence across all Huel products.
At Huel, safety and quality come first. We work with GFSI-certified partners, audited yearly by our technical team. Our “Huelway Code” sets high standards, with X-rays, barcode checks, and rigorous testing to ensure every product meets our strict requirements.
Our RTD manufacturing is also held to the Huelway Code, with controls around sieves, thermal processing and very sensitive microbiological and allergen testing, on a positive release system. We work with the world's leading factories and have a dedicated technical team to make sure every bottle is up to our high standards.
